The Petronas Malaysia Open 2024, the first tournament of the 2024 BWF World Tour, took place from January 9 to 14, 2024 at the Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. All the top badminton players gathered in Kuala Lumpur, attracting fans from all over the world to witness the top-notch athletic performance in one of the most prestigious badminton tournaments.
Representative Phoebe Yeh, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia and Ms. Charlin Chang, Director of Education Division showed up in the venue to cheer for Tai Tzu Ying and the athletes, and brought local souvenirs for the team, wishing them good luck in the coming tournaments.
Tai Tzu Ying, the former world No. 1 Taiwanese shuttler, has previously clinched four Malaysian Open titles in 2013, 2017, 2018, and 2019. She showcased her prowess and finished the tournament as runner-up in the Malaysia Open women's singles this year. Despite the loss in the final, she won the enthusiastic cheers and overwhelming support from the fans in Malaysia in the stadium, making headway toward the Olympics.
